Thank You, Rugby

Thank you to all the voters in Rugby who trusted us with their votes last Thursday at the local election. Overall our share of the vote was up by an average of 4% per candidate compared with the last time Borough wide elections were held in 2016.

The exception was in New Bilton Ward where a strong campaign by Green candidate Bob Beggs resulted in a whopping 85% increase over the 2017 by-election! The elections were a real team effort and we wish to thank all members and supporters who helped us.

More widely, Greens did well all over the West Midlands region. Solihull strengthened their position as the leading opposition party by taking the total number of seats to 11. They are now the joint biggest council group along with Brighton.

In Birmingham Julien Pritchard became the first-ever Green Party Councillor in the city. Elsewhere saw wins for the Green Party in Worcester and Cannock.

We will continue to campaign for a fairer, greener Rugby town which works for all residents.
